Erinnerungsmedaille für den Schleswig-Holstein Feldzug 1864 – Commemorative Medal of Schleswig-Holstein Feldzug Camapign 1864
Instituted 10.11.1864 by emperor Franz Joseph for soldiers fighting in the German-Danish War (called also Second Schleswig War). Austrian version, with monogram FJ for emperor Franz Joseph at the first position, following by initial W for King Wilhelm (in the Prussian version their sequence is inverted).
Nice awarded original, made of bronze from captured enemy canons: on the rim inscription AUS EROBERTEM GESCHÜTZ. Very nice condition, on old long ribbon. So nice preserved not often encountered on the collectors market.
