Originales Etui für Goldenes Verdienstkreuz (ohne Krone) – Original award case for Gold Cross of Merit (without Crown)
Box of wood, with black facing, inside upholstered with plush and satin.
On the underside name of the manufacturer: Etuis & Casseten Fabrik J.G. Bergmann, Wien VII as well as 1917 and BRONZE stamps (in the later phase of the war the merit crosses were no longer made of precious metals but of gilded or silvered bronze).
Very good used condition, case complete with working button lock and hinge. Facing more used on the lid, some rust spots inside.
