Croix de l’Yser / Kruis van de IJzer – (Battle of) Yser Cross
Established 1934, and was awarded to officers and soldiers of the Belgian army as well as Allied Forces who are eligible for Médaille de l’Yser. The Yser Cross was issued as a replacement to the earlier Yser Medal upon application and payment of a fee, consequently relatively few were issued as few veterans wanted to trade in their medal, and even fewer wanted to pay the fee. So is the cross relatively scarce.
Silvered bronze, partially enamelled, outstanding condition, on the original old ribbon with double pin.
