Croix militaire – Militaire Kruis – Military Cross

Instituted by the king Leopold II in 1885. The Military Cross, second class is awarded to Belgian military officers after 25 years of service. The Military Cross, first class (with rosette on the ribbon)is awarded to Belgian military officers after 25 years of service as a commissioned officer.

Here 2. type, with the monogram of king Albert I, awarded 1909-1934.

Gilt and enameled metal, enamel intact, cross in excellent condition, on the original old ribbon.
