Decoration from the World War I., established on 23.10.1914 by the Duke Ernst August (known also as Ernst-August-Cross). Awarding citerium was the Brunswick citizenship and possession of the Iron Cross.
On 20.3.1918 the Cross 1st Class was instituted (pinback). On same day also Bewährungsabzeichen to the 2nd Class – which was awarded for two years of service on the front.
Cross of bronze, with nice patina, very good condition. On original old ribbon (ribbon faded on the front side). Badge of silvered (non magnetic) metal, complete, with both prongs.
