Instituted on 13.7.1934 by the President Paul von Hindenburg, therefore often called also Hindenburg Cross. Version with swords, awarded to front combatants.

Back marked with manufacturer’s mark: JK for Josef Kopphold, München.

Bronzed iron (magnetic), excellent condition, on the old triangle ribbon of Austrian manner.
