Instituted on 13.7.1934 by the President Paul von Hindenburg, therefore often called also Hindenburg Cross. Version with swords, awarded to front combatants.

Back marked with manufacturer’s mark: T&T.L. for Tweer & Turck, Lüdenscheid.

Bronzed iron (magnetic), excellent condition, on the richt but newer ribbon.
