Lotta Svärd ansiomitali – Lotta Svärd, Medal of Merit
Lotta Svärd was a voluntary auxiliary paramilitary organisation for women, existing 1920-1944. During the Second World War, it mobilized to replace men conscripted into the army. It served in hospitals, at air raid warning positions, and other auxiliary tasks in close cooperation with the army. Medal od Merit, was awarded also to non-members, for supporting of Lotta Svärd.
