Lotta Svärd was a voluntary auxiliary paramilitary organisation for women, existing 1920-1944. During the Second World War, it mobilized to replace men conscripted into the army. It served in hospitals, at air raid warning positions, and other auxiliary tasks in close cooperation with the army.
Silvered copper, later type (after 1940), back awarding number 159068 and the manufacturer’s mark OL for Oskar Lindroos, Helsinki.
