Established 1911, to the 40th anniversary of the war end. Called also “To the defenders of the Fatherland” (Aux défenseurs de la Patrie) medal. Awarded to veterans of the Franco-Prussian War 1870-1871.
Design: Georges Lemaire (name on face)
Manufacturer: Monnaie de Paris (Paris Mint), marked at the back with mint mark (cornucopia) and BR for bronze.
Bronze, very nice condition, on the original old ribbon.
