Ehrenzeichen für Kriegsfürsorge – Medal for War Welfare

Award from the time of the First World War, established on 17.9.1915 by the Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig. Awarded to persons who had rendered outstanding services in the field of warfare. At first officers, NCO and soldiers were awarded, from June 1916 only women. For men a similar Kriegsehrenzeichen was instituted.
Bronze, very good condition, on the old original ribbon (this faded on the back).
