Type with Portrait of Duke Ernst Ludwig (1894-1918). One of several versions of his medal, here with the inscription FÜR TAPFERKEIT – For Bravery. Awarded also during World War I, as Hessian equivalent to Iron Cross.
Silver with nice patina, excellent condition, on the original old ribbon.
