The Corpo di Spedizione Italiano in Russia fighters’ decoration, initially unofficial, but in 1943 allowed to wear by decree of the Ministry of War. Due to the conditions on the Eastern Front, it was called the Ice Cross (Croce di Ghiaccio).
Precise made miniature (25 mm), on the reverse the abbreviation C.S.I.R. and battlefields names & dates.
Silvered metal, partially lacquered, excellent condition, on the right ribbon.
