Medal Niepodległości – Medal of Indepedence

Instituted on October 29, 1930 by the President of the Republic of Poland, together with the Cross of Independence, as its lower class. Awarded to civilians and military personnel who have earned Polish independence, including to insurgents from 1863, members of the political parties before 1918, officers and soldiers of the Polish legions and other units in the east and west who fought until 1921 (except participants in the Polish-Bolshevik War 1918-1921, for which separate awards were established). Until 1938, over 50,000 independence medals have been awarded.

On face signed with the mark WG for the manufacturer Wiktor Gontarczyk, Warsaw.

Bronze, excellent condition. On the original old ribbon.
