Kriegsdenkmünze 1813 (für Kämpfer) – Commemorative Medal of 1813 War (for combatants)

Instituted 24.12.1813 by the King Friedrich Wilhelm III. for soldiers fighting against France (Napoleonic Wars, in Germany called Brefreiungskriege = Liberation Wars). Combatant version, made of bronze from captured enemy canons: on the rim inscription AUS EROBERTEM GESCHÜTZ.
Type with with square cross arm ends, made in Berlin (earlier version with rounded arm ends was made in Paris).
Nice awarded original, with edge inscription. For its age very nice worn condition, on the later ribbon.
