Kriegsdenkmünze 1864 (für Kämpfer) – Commemorative Medal of 1864 War (for combatants)
Reference: OEK 1936
Instituted 10.11.1864 by King Wilhelm I. for soldiers fighting in the German-Danish War (called also Second Schleswig War). Prussian version, with initial W for Wilhelm at the first position, following by FJ for emperor Franz Joseph (in the Austrian version their sequence is inverted).
Nice awarded original, made of bronze from captured enemy canons: on the rim inscription AUS EROBERTEM GESCHÜTZ.
Very nice condition, ribbon correct, but newer manufacturing.
