Cross instituted on 1.10.1898 by the Emperor Wilhelm II, inspired by his wife Augusta Victoria (letters on face mean: W – Wilhelm, R – Rex A – Augusta, V – Victoria). Awarded to women and men for merits for the Red Cross, both in war as well in peacetime.

Silvered metal, cross red enameled, very nice, almost unworn condition. On original old ribbon.
