Reference: OEK 1871

Cross instituted on 1.10.1898 by the Emperor Wilhelm II, inspired by his wife Augusta Victoria (letters on face mean: W – Wilhelm, R – Rex A – Augusta, V – Victoria). Awarded to women and men for merits for the Red Cross, both in war as well in peacetime.

In original award case. Wooden box with red covering, edges inside gilt. Very nice used condition, lock working.

Silver with fine patina, cross red enameled, on original old ribbon.
