Decoration from the World War I period. Established on 20.2.1915 by the Duke Ernst II. for enslisted and NCO. Prerequisite to be decorated with this medal  was former awarding of the Iron Cross 2nd class.

Early scarce manufacturing of bronze, on original long ribbon.
